The Awareness Center closed. We operated from April 30, 1999 - April 30, 2014. This site is being provided for educational & historical purposes.
We were the international Jewish Coalition Against Sexual Abuse/Assault (JCASA); and were dedicated to ending sexual violence in Jewish communities globally. We did our best to operate as the make a wish foundation for Jewish survivors of sex crimes. In the past we offered a clearinghouse of information, resources, support and advocacy.
who was an unlicensed chasidic counselor living within the Satmar
community of Brooklyn, was convicted of 60 counts relating to sex abuse
of a child and endangering the welfare of a child. He faces 25 years in
prison on the top charge and two to seven years on the lesser charges.
The Awareness Center wants to thank the teenage survivor for her courage to come forward and speak the truth and her family for not caving into the political pressures that surrounded this case. Both the survivor and her family members should be seen as heroes.When ever they walk into a room everyone should stand up and applaud them for their heroic efforts. Fund also need to be raised to assist the survivor and her family members heal.
The Awareness Center also wants to thank the hundreds of people who supported this youngbrave woman during this important time of her life.
