News In Brief

Ha'aretz - Feburary 6, 2004
A 27-year-old employee of an Or Yehuda toy store was
arrested yesterday on suspicion of trying to induce boys aged 12 to 14 to
perform sexual acts. Tel Aviv Magistrate Court extended the remand on Avi
Zohar for one day. A woman complained to Mesubim police that Zohar had attempted
indecent acts with her three children and three other youngsters. She said
Zohar abducted one of her children for several hours during which he tried
to entice the boy. Police told the court the suspect had offered sex in exchange
for candy and toys. Zohar denies the charges. Police said the youngsters
will be questioned in the next few days to verify their stories. (Itim)
