Teen sex rap for principal of Bensonhurst private school
Two teenage boys told cops they endured years of sexual abuse at the hands of a Brooklyn high school principal who was arrested over the weekend, police said.
Emanuel Yegutkin, 30, was suspended Sunday from Elite High School, a private Jewish school in Bensonhurst with mainly Russian-American students.
Yegutkin forced a 17-year-old into lewd sex acts from the age of 7 to 14, cops said.
He subjected a 19-year-old to five years of fondling, beginning when the teen was 12, police said.
Neither child attended Elite, school officials said.
"This has nothing to do with the school," said Elite High School Headmaster Tzvi Koff. "But we have to protect our students. He no longer has access to the school building and he is not part of our institution anymore."
The disgraced educator - who also worked in upstate Gilboa as a lifeguard at Oorah summer camp last year - was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexually abusing children for more than a four-month period, according to a spokesman for the Brooklyn district attorney's office.
A message left at Yegutkin's Ocean Parkway home was not returned.
Oorah Camp Director Elisha Lewenstein said Yegutkin came highly recommended.
"We investigated him before we hired him and never had a complaint," Lewenstein said.
Yegutkin, a one-time rising star within the Orthodox Jewish community, lost a second prominent job yesterday: volunteer medic for the Flatbush Hatzoloh ambulance service.
"If anybody in Hatzoloh is accused of any criminal issue, we suspend them until the issue is cleared up," Hatzoloh spokesman Heshey Jacob said.
Yegutkin "suspended himself" when he was contacted yesterday, Jacob said.
Yegutkin's arrest is the latest blow to Brooklyn's Orthodox Jewish community. Since October, at least four Orthodox Jewish men in the borough have been charged with sexually abusing children.

The principal of a private Jewish high school in Brooklyn was convicted of sexually abusing three boys over the course of a decade, authorities said.
Emanuel Yegutkin, 33, the principal of Elite High School in the Bensonhurst section, was found guilty of 75 counts of sex abuse.
He faces up to 25 years in prison on each of several counts when he is sentenced on December 17.

Brooklyn yeshiva principal guilty of molesting boys
Emanuel Yegutkin guilty of 75 counts
Yeshiva principal Emanuel Yegutkin could spend rest of life in prison for molesting boys.
A BROOKLYN yeshiva principal was convicted Monday of molesting three brothers for 10 years, starting in 1996 when he fondled one of the boys beneath the Sabbath table.
Emanuel Yegutkin, 33, was found guilty of 75 counts, with the top one — sustained sexual abuse of a child — carrying a sentence of 25 years in prison.
“This violent sexual predator faces the remainder of his life behind bars,” said Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes.
Yegutkin — who founded the Elite High School in Bensonhurst — was a close friend of the boys’ father and a frequent visitor to their Flatbush home.
He was found guilty of abusing two of the boys from 1996 until 2005, starting when they were 7. He also showed pornography to the third one in 2008, leading to his arrest in early 2009.
The older brother testified the abuse started when Yegutkin sat next to him during the Sabbath meal and rubbed his private parts under the table.

New York Times - December 3, 2012
After three days of deliberation, a jury in Brooklyn found the man,
Emanuel Yegutkin, 33, guilty of 75 counts of sexual abuse, including the
top charge, sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, which
carries a maximum 25-year prison sentence. A sentencing date has not yet
been set.
Mr. Yegutkin’s lawyer, Jeffrey Schwartz, could not be reached for comment Monday evening.
The case is among a wave of sexual abuse cases involving Orthodox Jews that the Brooklyn district attorney, Charles J. Hynes, is prosecuting after decades in which such prosecutions were rare. Another trial,
involving Nechemya Weberman, an unlicensed religious counselor accused
of molesting a girl he was treating, continues Tuesday in the same
courthouse with testimony from the girl’s mother.
Mr. Yegutkin’s case “should serve as a clear message that those who
would sexually abuse children in this county will be punished severely,”
Mr. Hynes said in a statement Monday. “This violent sexual predator
faces the remainder of his life behind bars.”
Before his arrest in 2009, Mr. Yegutkin was the principal of Elite High
School, a private Jewish school for Russian-Americans in Bensonhurst. He
had volunteered for two summers at an Orthodox Jewish camp in the
Catskill Mountains called Oorah’s Boy Zone, and was a volunteer for
Hatzolah of Flatbush, the private Jewish ambulance service, those
organizations said.
In 1996, Mr. Yegutkin began to fondle and engage in oral sex with the
7-year-old son of a family friend, prosecutors said. He also sexually
abused the boy’s older brother, and molested them for years, in their
home and elsewhere, officials said. In 2008 he showed pornography to a
third boy, the jury found. All three victims testified in the trial.
The victims did not attend either the camp or the school, prosecutors
said, and both organizations have said they had no reports of improper
behavior. But immediately following his arrest nearly four years ago,
Mr. Yegutkin appeared to confess to the crimes.
According to court papers, Detective Steve Litwin of the police sex
crimes unit in Brooklyn told Mr. Yegutkin in January 2009 that one boy
said he was abused for the first time at age 7 in the basement guest
room of his house. “Is he lying?” Mr. Litwin asked him.
“No,” Mr. Yegutkin had replied. “The details may not be exact, but he’s not lying.”

Prosecutors say Yegutkin abused the young brothers after he became friends with the victims' family and frequently visited their home. They say the sex abuse began when two of the boys were just 7 years old. The boys did not attend Yegutkin's school.
Yegutkin was arrested in 2009.

UPDATE: Ex-Yeshiva Principal Yegutkin Convicted Of 75 Abuse Counts
New York Jewish Week - December 3, 2012
Emanuel Yegutkin, 33, the former principal of Elite High School in
Bensonhurst, was convicted Monday morning of all 75 counts of charges
that he sexually abused three boys over the course of a decade.
"This conviction is an example of my office's policy not to tolerate
horrendous crimes that target children," said Brooklyn District
Attorney Charles J. Hynes through a spokesman.
Another spokesman later added on his behalf, "this sexual predator
faces the remainder of his life behind bars. This should serve as a
clear message that those who would sexually abuse children anywhere in
this county will be punished severely."
All three victims testified at the trial, which began on Oct. 18th. The
jury of seven men and six women deliberated most of Thursday (Nov. 29)
and on Friday morning before reaching their verdict Monday morning.
The felony charges were related a to "a course of sexual conduct against children," said the spokesman, Jerry Shmetterer.
Yegutkin faces at least 30 years in jail. No sentencing date has been set.
He was arrested in January 2009 on charges of child molestation and
endangering the welfare of a child. According to prosecutors, Yegutkin
was a regular guest in the home of his victims’ after befriending their
father. The abuse took place from 1996 to 2005, when the two boys were
ages seven to 15-years-old, and in 2008, and he exposed the third boy to
pornography. He forced them to perform sex acts including fondling and
oral sex, prosecutors Rachel Schmidt and Lauren Traum convinced the
jury.
Sources have told The Jewish Week Yegutkin — who also worked as a camp
counselor and volunteer Hatzolah medic — had been seen at Ohel
Children's Home and Family Services, a key Orthodox-run social service
agency, prior to his arrest in a controversial program that treats
potential or suspected sexual abusers. Critics say such a program
prevents abusers from being reported to the police.
NOTE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said the victims were students at the yeshiva where Yegutkin was principal.
