Jail for father who sold daughter for NIS 50
By Itim
The Jerusalem Post - Friday, May 18, 2001

A man from the center of the country who gave his 11- year-old mentally-handicapped daughter to a friend to rape in exchange for NIS 50 was sentenced yesterday by the Tel Aviv District Court to 14 years' imprisonment. The father's friend was convicted of statutory rape and perverted acts, and was sentenced to 16 years in jail. The court noted in the sentence the family's low socioeconomic status and the fact that the parents were drug abusers.

The court also yesterday charged a 51-year-old man from the center of the country with raping and sodomizing his nine-year-old daughter. The man had been pardoned five years previously after being convicted of sodomizing and abusing another man.

The prosecution asked that the accused be held until the end of proceedings.
